Lesson Planning & Leading Class

Starting in Week 11, groups can opt in to lead half of a Monday or Wednesday class by walking the room through one of your group’s three Full Case studies (I, II, or III) using the DTPA framework. This is a deeper engagement option, not a requirement. A student may only participate once.

The other half of that class period, and all of Friday, is Case Design work time. If no group has signed up for a given half-class, that time is Case Design work too.

How to sign up#

Reach out to your instructor to claim one of the open slots below. Slots are one group per half-class, first-come first-served.

Wed Nov 25 and Fri Nov 27 are not available — that’s the short Thanksgiving week, and Nov 27 has no class at all.

Send your completed plan (see the template below) to me at least three days before your slot so I can give feedback and set anything up in D2L.

What’s expected#

Pick one of your group’s three Full Case analyses. Walk the class through it using the DTPA framework, highlighting your strongest evidence and any disagreements your group had along the way, then pose at least one discussion question to the room. This is deliberately lighter than a full lesson plan: you already did the research for this case, so the job here is presenting and facilitating discussion on it, not designing new content.

Your group also writes that day’s Exit Ticket question, tied to your case. It still runs at the normal end of class, same as any other day.

• Your strongest piece of evidence for one or two DTPA components (don’t try to re-present the whole analysis in half a class).

• What will you ask the room to get people talking?
• What’s your follow-up if the room goes quiet?

3. Exit Ticket#

• What question will you ask to check whether the class engaged with your case?

Post-Session Reflection (individual, after you lead)#

Required to receive credit (~150 words); due Sunday at 11:59pm instead of your case analysis that week
